Statements Made "Under Duress"
Now that U.S. journalist Jill Carroll is home and safe she has recanted the statements she made while still in captivity speaking out against the occupation and criticizing the American government. Idiots on the right were quick to take these comments and call her a terrorist sympathizer not even considering that perhaps she was being forced by her captors to say what she said.
Some even went as far as to joke that she would be the kind of person to walk into the green zone with a bomb strapped to her chest. Now that she is safe we know that she was being forced to make false statements. I hope the right wing critics are proud of themselves.
